I bought this hydration pack after another pack I had purchased did not fit just right (it was unisex). I love the 600 ml flasks, and while the straws take a little getting used to, I really think it is easier to hydrate using them then the bite flasks. I have only used it for a 33K, but will likely use it for my upcoming 60K as well.
There are not many front pockets (two for the flasks), just one zipper pocket (I kept two gels in there) and one stretchy pocket in the front (I kept my trail cup in this pocket). There are two stretchy pockets in the back, that are easy to get to, and if you don't use a bladder the back of the pack could easily hold a light jacket and other clothing items - I am a pretty lightweight packer so have not tested this out yet, but could easily see myself stuffing a lightweight rain jacket in if I needed. There is also a small zipper pocket on the back (just near the back of your neck) that I stuffed my phone in, I don't typically carry my phone, but gave the zipper pocket a whirl on my last race and it did not get in my way and kept my phone safe and dry. There are ways to secure poles to the pack, I did not try these.
I love how lightweight the pack is, I barely realized I had it on. It fits super well and I love the BOA fit dials for the side of the pack -- works like a dream, easy to do even on the fly. I found this pack to be simple, but perfect in all the ways that matter. I haven't tried a bladder, I would expect it to work just fine. Quality is excellent, and I can't really complain about anything. I am looking forward to using this on my next adventure!
Maybe it was the volume/features of this pack in particular but there was no room for snacks or my phone that were in reaching distance while wearing the pack. It was impossible to get a water bottle in the vest while wearing it. The tiny zip pocket up front couldn’t hold more than a chapstick.
Pros: cool bottles, nice fabric, neat custom fit dials, fun colors, front pole holders, lightweight, nice for summer running.
Cons: bottles had a horrible plastic taste at first but went away with some baking soda and water, back panel of this pack makes my shirt more sweaty than other packs, the mesh looks like it will work really well for venting but it didn’t, lack of pockets that close/zip.
I love this pack. I’ve used it for a 50 miler and a 50k, and it’s awesome. It’s super comfortable and it stays well on my back. The soft bottles it comes with are sturdy and the tops are easy to thread and screw on. I also love that they are pink :)! The front pockets are super stretchy and can hold my phone and nutrition well. The tightening system on the sides works great and I like that I can make adjustments while I am running. I haven’t used trekking poles with this pack yet, but I like how you can hold them up front. I am anywhere between a M-XL in tops (36B chest), and I have the L. I am excited to use this pack for the rest of my long adventures this summer!
