Eco-Challenge- World's Toughest Race shoe of choice

I took these shoes with me to the Eco-Challenge which was a 671 Kilometer stage race on the islands of Fiji. I also trained in them extensively prior to the race. The shoes excelled for my shorter and faster training runs and provided remarkable stability in wet environments when my feet were in and out of wet situations and on wet rocks. The grip is good in wet environments and great in loose desert sand and dust. They were "fast" on dry rocky terrain and I never felt they were lacking in grip. The lacing and tongue system is a little different than traditional shoes and I think it is an improvement and the tongue was never bunched up or loose. They hold up better than most shoes and I haven't experienced pre-mature holes in the fold part of the front toe box, pronation issues, or degradation of the heel cup. The stability is great but stiffer events such as Sparten races. The shoe will fit average feet size but I have a wide toe box and super high arch. The shoe still worked for me. People with skinny feet should try them out before purchasing.
